On 10th February, Shakun Batra’s ‘Gehraiyaan’ completed one year of its release. Deepika Padukone, Ananya Panday, Dhairya Karwa, and Siddhant Chaturvedi played the lead roles in the contentious romance drama, which was published on Amazon Prime Video last year. Red Chillies VFX released a video in which they dissected the movie’s invisible visual effects as the crew marked the anniversary of the movie’s debut.
The majority of the film’s most fundamental scenes, like where Deepika and Siddhant’s characters are seen talking on the beach, were shot in a studio using a green screen. This demonstrates how modern technology was used in Gehraiyaan, a movie that didn’t seem to be particularly difficult but instead relied heavily on visual effects. This demonstrates the importance of visual effects in contemporary filmmaking and the versatility of its application in movies other than fantasy blockbusters.
One viewer responded to the video by saying, “The entire movie was vfx.” Some people applauded Red Chillies for having the best visual effects and remarked, “It’s incredible to see how they piled gehraiyaan to gehraiyaan.”
To mark this special day, Ananya took to her Instagram handle and uploaded some unseen pictures from the sets of ‘Gehraiyaan’. She captioned, “special people, special movie #1YearOfGehraiyaan missing everyone SO much forever grateful for this.” Karan Johar also gave a shout out to the Gehraiyaan team and said, “One year of a film that broke ground, switched genre halfway through, was discussed and debated…But most certainly not ignored.”
