Delhi’s Notable Single Screens To Not Witness Salman Khan Starrer ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ Release. Check The Reason Inside!

Amba and Delite cinemas have even made the decision to re-release the Shah Rukh Khan-led film "Pathaan."

Salman Khan’s highly anticipated action-packed movie “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan” has finally hit the cinemas today with a massive release in over 4000 screens throughout the country. Regrettably, some single screens in Delhi were unable to show this film.

“Theatres like Liberty, Delite and Amba are not playing Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. This is because Zee Studios, the distributors of the Salman Khan-starrer, asked them to sign a contract whereby they’ll have to compulsorily play the Ajay Devgn-starrer Maidaan and Sunny Deol-Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2,”  Bollywood Hungama quoted its source as saying.

“This was not acceptable to these theatres as Gadar 2 clashes with the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal on August 11. They didn’t want to lose out on it as it can also work big time. On the other hand, Maidaan releases on June 23, a week after Adipurush. The Prabhas-starrer can surprise and the exhibitors felt that it was not a good idea to discontinue playing it and replace it with Maidaan, especially if it’s doing well,” its source added.

Having no alternative, the affected theaters have opted to screen “Chengiz,” a Bengali movie dubbed in Hindi. Amba and Delite cinemas have even made the decision to re-release the Shah Rukh Khan-led film “Pathaan.” Meanwhile, Liberty cinema is showing two screenings of “Chengiz” and three screenings of the Punjabi flick “Annhi Dea Mazaak Ae,” starring Ammy Virk, which premiered today.

“The discussions are going on and the issue will be resolved soon. Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan will release in Delite. The other cinemas are also expected to follow suit,” its source further said. Reports surfaced that a comparable problem concerning revenue-sharing terms had arisen in other circuits. However, the issue was resolved yesterday.
