Despite A Certificate, CBFC Cuts Intimate Close Ups Between Ranbir Kapoor And Rashmika Mandanna In Animal

Animal, the upcoming crime drama starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol, has been given an A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). However, that did not stop the censor board from making several other changes to the film, including deleting some intimate visuals of Ranbir and Rashmika.

CBFC has also modified all the cuss words in the film, even though it has been given an A certificate. Moreover, the word ‘costume’ has been replaced by ‘vastra’ in the film.

The film’s director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who is known for his bold and controversial films like Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh, was reportedly astonished by the censor board’s decisions, but did not protest as he is confident of his film’s quality and appeal. The film is expected to showcase the intense relationship between Ranbir and Anil, who play father and son, and Bobby, who plays a mute character.

The CBFC has instructed the theatres to go ahead with the sale of tickets, keeping in mind the A certificate of the film. Here are all the changes in censor certificate:

Animal is slated to release on December 1, 2023. The film is one of the longest Indian films ever made, with a runtime of 201 minutes. The film also features Tripti Dimri, Shakti Kapoor, Prem Chopra and Suresh Oberoi in supporting roles. The film’s music is composed by JAM8, Vishal Mishra, Jaani, Manan Bhardwaj, Shreyas Puranik, Ashim Kemson and Harshwardhan Rameshwar.

Animal To Have Open Climax, Ranbir Kapoor Didn’t Dub For Telugu Version For THIS Reason

At a promotional event of Animal in Hyderabad, Ranbir Kapoor and team spoke about sequel of the film and thus film might have open climax. This will be very interesting thing considering that film is already 3 hour 21 minute long.

Ranbir Kapoor explained that he didn’t dub for Telugu version of the film as he didn’t have time to replicate the performance.

Speaking about the lengthy runtime of the film, Ranbir Kapoor said, “The story of Animal requires this amount of time to reach the audience, we saw the first cut that was 3 hours and 49 mins and we were entertained, dont be panicked by the length & just come experience cinema at its best.”

Initially, the team planned to release the same version in theatres with two intervals as they felt the story needed that runtime and it was very engaging. However, this was a risky move and distributors wanted to play it safe so the makers edited a few scenes and made the final runtime of 3 hours and 21 minutes for the theatrical version.
