Directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Raj & D.K, Stree stars Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana, Abhishek Banerjee. It was released in 2018 and Maddock films is the production company.
The 128 minute film was made with a budget of 14 crore and earned more than ₹180.76 crores. At the 64th Filmfare awards, it received ten nominations. Rajkummar Rao had said that he will start with the horror comedy’s sequel soon. The latest bollywood news is that Stree 2 will reportedly commence from July.
“Stree is a game changer for everyone at Maddock and at this point in time, all the energies are invested to come up with an experience better than the first film. The script is almost locked and work is in progress on the dialogue draft. Stree 2 moves into the pre-production stage by April and the makers are targeting to take it on floors from July this year,” Pinkvilla quoted its source as saying.
It will have Varun Dhawan as Bhediya. The Maddock opted for crossover despite the film Bhediya not being a big bit, earning 89.9 cr as worldwide collections gross, while Roohi was a failure at the Box-office. Now, time would tell whether the makers will sail through in making this success.
