Despite Poster Launch, Akshay Kumar To Quit Aanand L Rai’s ‘Gorkha’ As He Believes The ‘Story May Have A Shadow Of Doubt’. Details Inside!

Earlier, the actor had revealed that he will not be a part of Hera Pheri 3 because he wasn’t happy with the script.

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar was supposed to reunite with Aanand L Rai for the third time in a biopic ‘Gorkha’ after Atrangi Re and Raksha Bandhan.

Colour Yellow Productions and Cape of Good Films had announced this biopic in 2021 that was based on the life of Major General Ian Cardozo. The film, which was supposed to be helmed by National Award-winning director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, was set to go on floors in March 2023.

As per latest report, Akshay is no longer part of Gorkha. He walked out because of the raising questions against the authenticity of the story. “Some veterans from the unit that Major General Cardozo was attached with during the war reached out, putting major question marks on his version of the events. Akshay has utmost respect for the armed forces and does not want to associate with a story that may have a shadow of doubt,” a source told Hindustan Times and Akshay’s spokesperson has confirmed it.

The film was based on the life of Major General Ian Cardozo, a legendary officer of the Gorkha regiment of the Indian Army (5th Gorkha Rifles), who fought in the wars of 1962, and 1965, and most notably in the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971.

Earlier, the actor had revealed that he will not be a part of Hera Pheri 3 because he wasn’t happy with the script.

Meanwhile, his film ‘Selfiee’ is scheduled to be released on February 24, 2023 which also features Emraan Hashmi, Nushrratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty. The actor also has ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ with Tiger Shroff, and Soorarai Pottru remake.
