Dhurandhar Faces Major Content Delivery Issues : IMAX Prints Delayed And Overseas Shows Affected Just Hours Before Release

Ranveer Singh‘s highly awaited war drama Dhurandhar is facing major content delivery issues. The makers are reportedly in a race against time to deliver the film to cinemas across India and overseas territories. With Aditya Dhar‘s directorial releasing tomorrow, December 5, this is a very rare and stressful situation for everyone involved.

Trade sources have revealed that this kind of last minute chaos usually happens with South Indian films, but it is extremely rare to see what is happening with Dhurandhar. The content delivery has been significantly delayed and has not been delivered in several key overseas territories. This has caused serious distress among the distributors who are releasing the film in foreign markets.

Overseas Shows In Australia, New Zealand And Fiji Affected

All eyes are on Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji right now. According to the time zone differences, these territories will be playing Dhurandhar first before any other country. However, due to the non delivery of content, it is expected that several shows of the film in these countries will have to be cancelled. The team is working very hard to make sure that at least the shows on Friday evening and night play as per the original schedule.

The makers are also racing to supply the content to other major foreign territories like the United Kingdom, Middle East, and North America. The delay could potentially affect the opening day collections in these crucial markets. Distributors are reportedly very worried about the situation.

IMAX Version Will Not Play On Friday

The problems are not limited to overseas markets. Even in India, the IMAX version of Dhurandhar will not be played on Friday. The IMAX properties across the country will have to play the non IMAX version on release day, again due to the non delivery of content on time. Exhibition sources have confirmed that the makers are trying their best, but it seems almost certain that on Friday, the IMAX content will not reach the IMAX theatres.

This is very disappointing news for cinephiles who were specifically planning to watch Dhurandhar in IMAX format. The film’s trailer makes it clear that this is a large scale war drama mounted on a grand canvas and perfectly suited for the biggest screen possible. However, there is a chance that the IMAX presentation might begin playing in cinemas from Friday evening. A clearer picture will emerge by Thursday night.

The First Half Is Over 2 Hours Long

Meanwhile, exhibition insiders have shared some interesting details about the film’s runtime. The first half of Dhurandhar is more than 2 hours long, clocking a duration of 2 hours and 4 minutes. The second half is comparatively shorter, with a runtime of 1 hour and 28 minutes. This brings the total duration to 3 hours and 32 minutes, making it one of the longest films in recent years.
