Why Is The Film Being Split Into Two Parts
The reason behind this decision is reportedly the extensive footage that director Aditya Dhar has shot. Sources say that the filmmaker has shot extensively, and the film has shaped up really well. However, since it is very lengthy, the makers have reportedly toyed with the idea of breaking it into two parts.
This is not an uncommon practice in the film industry today. Many big-budget films with expansive storylines have been released as two-part sagas to do justice to the narrative. It allows filmmakers to tell their stories without having to cut crucial scenes or rush through important plot points.
Part 2 Could Release In First Half Of 2026
If Dhurandhar is indeed being planned as a two-part film, then part 2 is expected to arrive next year. Sources suggest that it will preferably be released in the first half of 2026. This would mean a gap of just a few months between the two installments, keeping the momentum and audience interest alive.
However, it now remains to be seen whether the makers, Jio Studios and B62 Studios, will announce the two-part aspect before the release of part 1, or if viewers will only get to know about it towards the end of the first film when they watch it in cinemas. When contacted for a comment, Jio Studios chose not to respond to the query.

Dhurandhar has already created a massive buzz among movie fans. The teaser was unveiled on July 6, which was Ranveer Singh’s birthday, and it got a smashing response from audiences. The high-octane action sequences and intense visuals immediately increased the excitement for the film.
The film is Aditya Dhar’s next directorial after the blockbuster and much-loved Uri: The Surgical Strike from 2019. That film was a massive success and established Aditya Dhar as a director who can handle large-scale action films with patriotic themes. Expectations from Dhurandhar are sky high because of his track record.
