With Dhurandhar The Revenge hitting theatres on March 19, 2026, the makers have moved swiftly to lock the film down against the biggest pre release threat, piracy. In a timely intervention, the Madras High Court has stepped in with an ad interim order aimed at preventing any unauthorised streaming or cable telecast of the Ranveer Singh led spy action thriller during its most vulnerable window.
Latest Update: Ad Interim Injunction Till April 15, 2026
On March 18, 2026, Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy passed an ad interim injunction restraining internet service providers and cable TV operators from unlawfully broadcasting or transmitting Dhurandhar The Revenge until April 15, 2026. The order came while hearing applications filed by Reliance Industries Limited and its media arm, Jio Studios, which approached the court seeking urgent protection against potential copyright infringement.
In its plea, the producers flagged the risk of unauthorised dissemination of the film through intermediaries, including ISPs and cable operators, and submitted the Central Board of Film Certification certification to establish their status as producers. The court, while considering the request, noted that films nearing release can face significant and irreparable harm if interim relief is not granted in time.
At the same time, the judge also recorded that such restraining directions could affect the business interests of the respondents. To balance this, the court directed Reliance to indemnify the respondents for any losses arising out of the injunction. Subject to that condition, the restraint order will stay in force until April 15, 2026, which is also when the matter is scheduled to be heard next after notices were issued to the respondents.
What Dhurandhar The Revenge Is About
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar The Revenge is a Hindi language spy action thriller and the sequel to the 2025 film Dhurandhar. The new chapter follows Ranveer Singh as an undercover operative navigating a high risk terrain that collides crime networks with political power games.
The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan and Arjun Rampal, setting it up as a multi star action vehicle with a clear emphasis on scale and intrigue. With theatres rolling out shows from March 19, the court order adds a layer of protection for the producers in the critical initial phase of release.
