Did You Know? Katrina Kaif locked lips with Gulshan Grover & Amitabh Bachchan walked in on them!

Gulshan Grover was frank about the kissing sequence with Katrina Kaif in Kaizad Gustad's Boom in a recent interview with a top daily.

Katrina Kaif may be one of Bollywood’s top actresses now, but her debut film is forgettable. While many people believe Katrina joined the Hindi film profession with Sarkar, a 2005 political crime thriller, she actually made her debut in Boom, a 2003 critical and commercial flop co-starring Gulshan Grover and Amitabh Bachchan.

In today’s throwback, we go back to when Gulshan admitted to kissing the actress. For those who don’t recall, despite the film’s box office failure, her notorious lip-lock with Grover was widely publicised. But did you know that Sr Bachchan happened to walk in on them rehearsing! According to the International Business Times, Katrina Kaif and Gulshan Grover practised the kissing scene in a confined room for two hours before filming it. Amitabh Bachchan happened to walk in during this time and spotted them kissing.

Gulshan Grover was frank about the kissing sequence with Katrina Kaif in Kaizad Gustad’s Boom in a recent interview with a top daily. The Bad Man of Bollywood claimed that the team had only two hours to shoot the lip-lock scene in a submerged aquarium at the Hotel Burj Al Arab in Dubai, calling it one of the most difficult sequences he has ever done in his career. Gulshan went on to say that while he and Katrina were practising the lip-lock sequence, their Boom co-star Amitabh walked into the studio and cheered him. The actor concluded that this cheer merely added to his anxiety.

On being asked about the same controversial scene from Boom, Katrina Kaif had once said, “What’s there to react in the first place? And what’s new about those scenes. ‘Boom’ has always been all over the Internet. I don’t deny I have done the scenes in the past but I wasn’t comfortable.”

Speculations were prevalent at the time that Kaif’s lip-locking sequences with Grover were cut from the film’s initial DVD because Salman Khan had forced the producers to do so. In addition to the aforementioned trio, Jackie Shroff, Padma Lakshmi, Madhu Sapre, and Zeenat Aman appeared in Kaizad Gustad’s Boom.
