What happens when a successful actor director duo decides to reunite? Magic is about to happen again. Diljit Dosanjh has officially confirmed his second collaboration with acclaimed filmmaker Imtiaz Ali through a behind the scenes vlog posted on Instagram. The announcement has thrilled fans who loved their first collaboration Amar Singh Chamkila.
The vlog posted on Thursday gives fans a rare glimpse into Diljit’s daily routine while shooting in Punjab. The video shows his dedication and work ethic, starting from the early morning hours and continuing through an entire day of filming. This peek behind the curtain confirms that the duo is working on a currently untitled project.
A Day In The Life Of Diljit Dosanjh
The vlog begins with Diljit starting his day at 4:30 in the morning, showcasing the demanding schedule actors follow during film shoots. He is then seen doing a rigorous workout session, proving that fitness is a priority even with the hectic filming schedule. After his exercise routine, he has a healthy breakfast consisting of fruits and protein to fuel his day.
The video then follows him as he heads to the shoot location with his team. Fans get to see him filming in front of a green screen, which hints at the technical and visual effects heavy nature of the project. The most exciting part of the vlog is seeing Diljit sharing warm interactions with Imtiaz Ali on set, which confirms the director is helming this new untitled project. After wrapping up the shoot, Diljit returns to a scenic haveli where he is staying during the film’s production in Punjab.
The Success Of Their First Collaboration
Diljit and Imtiaz’s first collaboration was Amar Singh Chamkila, a critically acclaimed biopic based on the life of the iconic Punjabi musician. Parineeti Chopra starred opposite Diljit as Amarjot, Chamkila’s wife. Known as the Elvis of Punjab, Chamkila was celebrated for his electrifying performances, bold lyrical style, and massive cultural impact on Punjabi music.
The film told the tragic story of how Chamkila and Amarjot were assassinated in 1988, which remains one of Punjabi music’s greatest losses. Amar Singh Chamkila received widespread critical acclaim and even earned two nominations at the International Emmy Awards for Best Actor for Diljit Dosanjh and Best TV Movie Mini Series. While the film did not win, the recognition brought global spotlight to Punjabi and Indian storytelling, reinforcing the enduring influence of Chamkila’s music and legacy.
Border 2 On The Horizon
Before this new collaboration with Imtiaz Ali hits theatres, Diljit will be seen in Border 2, the highly awaited sequel to J.P. Dutta’s 1997 war classic. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film features Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit in key roles portraying brave soldiers safeguarding the nation.
Produced by T Series and J.P. Films, Border 2 is slated to release on January 23, 2026. The film promises large scale action sequences, emotional intensity, and a patriotic storyline crafted for today’s audiences. With two major projects lined up, Diljit is having an incredible year in Indian cinema.
