A New Pairing For An Intense Love Story
While Emraan Hashmi will return to play his iconic character Shivam Pandit, Awarapan 2 will feature a fresh pairing with Disha Patani. According to sources close to the development, the sequel will maintain the spirit of the first film, set against a gangster backdrop, but aims to amplify the emotional core with “2x the romance and 2x the emotions.”
The script reportedly demanded an actress like Disha, who was “bowled over by the emotional arc” and gave an instant yes to the project. While details about Disha’s character are being kept under wraps, the pairing of Emraan and Disha promises a fresh chemistry for this dark and intense world. The film will be directed by Nitin Kakkar, taking over the reins from Mohit Suri, with Mukesh Bhatt producing.
Focus On Music And Shoot Schedule
The makers understand that music was the soul of Awarapan. The team is putting special effort into creating a wholesome music album for the sequel, aiming to hit the bullseye with romantic tracks. There is also a possibility that some beloved melodies from the original film might return in a new form.
The team is gearing up to start production soon. The shoot for Awarapan 2 is scheduled to begin by the end of September or early October 2025. The plan is to wrap up filming by January 2026, aiming for a Summer 2026 release.
