Drishyam 3 Is Official, Mohanlal Once Again The Lead In The Third Part Of The Franchise!

Producer Anthony Perumbavoor announced at the Mazhavil Entertainment Awards that Drishyam 3 is confirmed as the Director Jeetu Joseph has already started working on the film

Drishyam has been one of the most popular suspense-thriller franchises of Mohanlal. While the first installment turned out to be one of the biggest hits of Mollywood, the second too garnered ample attention despite its OTT release. During a recent award ceremony, producer Anthony Perumbavoor confirmed that Drishyam 3 is indeed on the cards and his announcement left fans excited about seeing their favourite superstar return to the role of Georgekutty.

When Anthony was invited on stage during the award function, he was asked by popular Mollywood actor Tovino Thomas about the update on Drishyam 3, to which he answered, “Drishyam 3 is definitely on the cards. We have already started work on it.” When he was prodded further about how Mohanlal refused to comment on it when the same question was posed to him, the producer added, “He possibly wanted to discuss about it with director Jeetu Joseph. They are yet to have a conversation regarding the same.”

Soon after the announcement, fans started sharing the video clip of Anthony’s confirmation on social media as they rejoiced the return of Georgekutty. The first installment of Drishyam which released in 2013, featured Mohanlal as a simple middle-class man, who decides to play a cat-and-mouse game with the police when his daughter gets caught up in the murder of a classmate, who sexually harasses her.

The film garnered a massive response, followed by which it was remade in Tamil with Kamal Haasan, and later in Hindi with Ajay Devgn in the lead. Drishyam 2 is a continuation of the same story and it released directly on OTT, on Amazon Prime. However, in Hindi, the sequel to the suspense thriller is currently under the post production stage and it is expected to release on November 18.
