Drishyam 3 Kerala Box Office: Mohanlal Starrer Crosses Rs 29 Crore In 3 Days After Strong Day 3 Hold

Mohanlal’s Georgekutty has returned to cinemas with the kind of pull that turns a franchise film into a box office event. Drishyam 3, the latest chapter in Jeethu Joseph’s blockbuster crime thriller universe, has kept its Kerala run firmly in the spotlight after completing three strong days in theatres.

Released worldwide on May 21, 2026, the film arrived with massive goodwill from the first two instalments and a loyal audience eager to see how Georgekutty’s story would move forward. While the film has drawn mixed reactions, its theatrical momentum in Kerala has remained solid through the opening stretch.

Drishyam 3 Crosses Rs 29 Crore In Kerala

Drishyam 3 collected Rs 9.20 crore gross on its third day at the Kerala box office, showing a small but important rise from its second day. The Mohanlal starrer had opened with Rs 11 crore gross in the state, followed by Rs 8.80 crore gross on Day 2.

With its Day 3 performance, the film’s three-day Kerala total now stands at Rs 29 crore gross. For a Malayalam crime thriller running on franchise recall rather than spectacle alone, that is a commanding number and confirms the audience pull of the Drishyam brand.

The film has already moved into the success zone in Kerala. Its weekday hold will now determine how high it climbs after the opening weekend, especially with the franchise carrying huge recall value across family audiences and thriller fans.

Why Drishyam 3 Matters For Malayalam Cinema

Drishyam 3 is written and directed by Jeethu Joseph, who created the franchise and has steered all three Malayalam instalments. The film stars Mohanlal as Georgekutty, with Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Siddique, Murali Gopy, Biju Menon, Kalabhavan Shajohn and Asha Sarath in key roles.

The 2026 Malayalam crime thriller has been produced by Antony Perumbavoor under Aashirvad Cinemas, with Panorama Studios and Pen Studios associated with the film’s presentation. The story continues to follow Georgekutty and his family as the shadow of an old crime keeps tightening around their lives. Like the earlier films, the drama is built around family, guilt, survival and the moral cost of protection.

The first Drishyam, released in 2013, became an industry hit and turned into one of Malayalam cinema’s most influential modern thrillers. Drishyam 2 released directly on Amazon Prime Video in 2021 during the pandemic period and earned strong appreciation for expanding the story without losing its emotional core. With Drishyam 3, the franchise has returned to the big screen and has given Malayalam cinema one of its most closely tracked box office stories of 2026.
