Dunki is a comedy-drama film directed by Rajkumar Hirani, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani. The film is based on the illegal immigration technique of “donkey flights”, where people use fake passports and visas to enter foreign countries. The film follows the adventures of four friends from Punjab who dream of going to London and take the risky route of Dunki.
Shah Rukh Khan plays the role of Hardayal “Hardy” Singh Dhillon, a soldier who promises to take the friends to their dream destination. This is Khan’s first collaboration with Hirani, who is known for his successful films like Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., 3 Idiots, Sanju and PK. Khan revealed that Hirani had offered him roles in his previous films, but things never worked out. He also said that Dunki is “a story of people who want to come back home… when you finally get the calling.”
Shah Rukh Khan Shares Teaser Of Mahi With Meaning Of Dunki
Our Monday just got a whole lot better after superstar Shah Rukh Khan teased fans with a new Dunki promo on his Instagram feed. Early morning on Monday, the Pathaan star treated his fans and followers to a promo version of the new song from the film Dunki, O Maahi O Maahi. What caught our attention was however the caption where Shah Rukh Khan explained the meaning of the word Dunki, a question that has often been asked by fans in several AskSRK sessions conducted by the 58-year-old. Explaining the meaning of his upcoming film’s title,
SRK wrote, “Because everybody asks, what does Dunki mean? Dunki means being apart from your loved ones. And when you are with them, one feels the moment should last till the end of time. O Maahi O Maahi….feel the love before the sun sets on the horizon today.”

The 13-second teaser features SRK standing in a desert and doing his signature pose. He is seen in an all-black outfit. The clip also reads, “Promo version. The film has a different version.” Sung by Arijit Singh, the official release date of the song is still awaited. The first two songs Lutt Putt Gaya and Nikle The Kabhi Hum Ghar Se have received positive responses from fans.
