Shaitaan was released on March 8 2024 and became a massive hit, earning over Rs 211 crore worldwide. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the supernatural thriller featured Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, and Jyotika.
The film (a remake of the Gujarati horror Vash) impressed audiences with its gripping story and powerful performances. Now, the makers are taking the story forward with Shaitaan 2.
Ajay Devgn Drops Hints At Shaitaan 2 On Film’s First Anniversary
To celebrate the film’s first anniversary, Ajay Devgn shared a mysterious video on social media. The clip shows R Madhavan with long white hair and a beard, locked in a prison. Ajay Devgn is seen wearing glasses and says, “Now this is your hell, and I am your Shaitaan.”
The video then flashes scenes from Shaitaan before ending with a message marking the film’s one-year milestone.
Though the teaser does not directly mention Shaitaan 2, the intense conversation between Devgn and Madhavan hints at the sequel.
Fans are now speculating that Ajay Devgn’s character might be the one in control this time and keep R Madhavan trapped. The video has added to the excitement for the next chapter of this horror saga.
Shaitaan Turns Into A Franchise
Earlier, reports suggested that Shaitaan 2 and even Shaitaan 3 are already in the works. The huge success of the first film has led to the creation of a horror franchise under Panorama Studios.
However, details about the story and cast of the sequels are still under wraps. If Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan return, the next film could take the horror to another level.
Panorama Studios is also expanding its horror lineup by acquiring the remake rights to the Turkish horror film Dabbe. Released in 2006, Dabbe became a cult classic and led to several sequels.
