Emraan Hashmi’s ‘Dybbuk’ to clash with ‘Meenakshi Sundareshwar’ and ‘Hum Do Hamare Do’ on OTT this Diwali

Following in the footsteps of Bollywood’s tradition of clashing films at the box office, here are the films that will be pitted against one another on the OTT platform. Dybbuk starring Emraan Hashmi will compete with Hum Do Hamare Do, starring Kriti Sanon and Rajkummar Rao, and Meenakshi Sundarsehwar, starring Sanya Malhotra and Abhimanyu Dassani.

Soon after the Netflix announcement of Meenakshi Sundareshwar release date which is November 5 on the day of Diwali. Disney+ Hotstar also announced that Hum Do Hamare Do will be releasing on 29th October. As per the source, it has been said that apart from these two films, Emraan Hashmi’s Dybbuk will be also releasing around Diwali.

The Source said, “The head honchos at Amazon have decided to premiere Dybbuk. It’s a horror film starring Emraan Hashmi. Diwali is usually associated with light-hearted films. But by releasing Dybbuk in the festival, they want to stand out and are confident that viewers will be willing to check out this scarefest amidst the festive fervour.” 

 Adding to this he revealed, “Amazon is eyeing Diwali week. The trailer of the film will be out on October 20. The release date will be announced with the trailer or a day before.”

Dybbuk is the remake of the Malayalam film Ezra and directed by Jay Krishnan, whereas, Hum Do Hamare Do, has been directed by Abhishek Jain and produced by Dinesh Vijan. Also, Netflix’s film Meenakshi Sundareshwar is bankrolled by Dharma Productions.
