DJ Aqeel is known for performing at celebrity events. He recently shared memories of playing at Shah Rukh Khan’s famous Mumbai mansion, Mannat.
During a chat with Siddharth Kannan, Aqeel talked about the exclusive parties that brought Bollywood’s biggest stars together.
DJ Aqeel Reveals Shah Rukh Khan’s Parties Were Full Of Big Names
DJ Aqeel revealed that SRK’s parties were full of star power with Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Salman Khan regularly attending. What stood out to Aqeel was Shah Rukh’s outstanding hospitality.
“Food was great, alcohol was great, people were great, his hospitality was great. Everything was amazing,” he said. He also noted that the parties always had perfect attendance & guests travelled from all over to be there.
On How He Ensured Each Actor Who Attended Felt Happy
The DJ shared how, at the start of the party, actors would stick to their own groups. But as the night went on, they would eventually come together on the dance floor.
“I have played at Shah Rukh Khan’s house hundreds of times. Shah Rukh, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan would be in corners with their own groups,” he explained.
Aqeel also mentioned how he ensured everyone was happy by playing songs for each actor. “If I play one actor’s song, the other would feel bad. So, I would make sure I would play all their songs so that everybody is happy,” he said.
What made Shah Rukh’s parties even more special, according to Aqeel, was that celebrities could enjoy themselves without worrying about cameras or social media.
“People used to look forward to his parties. He used to have parties every 2-3 months,” Aqeel said.
Aqeel also revealed the large sums he earned for his performances, sharing that he was paid Rs 30K-40K per night, a reflection of the exclusivity of the events.
On a personal note, Aqeel spoke about his past relationship with Farah Khan. The couple separated in 2023 and have two children from their relationship.
Talking about Shah Rukh Khan, he is gearing up for the shoot of King next month. Pathaan director Siddharth Anand will return to handle this another big project of SRK. Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan are also confirmed to star in this action thriller.
