Arjun Mathur has emerged as one of the finest actors in the current times. His performance in Amazon Prime’s Made in Heaven made him an overnight star. Not only in India, but the actor was recognized globally for his incredible performance in the series. The actor was nominated at the International Emmy Awards 2020 for Best Actor for the Zoya Akhtar directorial series.
Mathur is now ready with his other path-breaking film ‘Silence…Can You Hear It?’ on ZEE5. The film was released on March 26, 2021 and the audiences are quite appreciating his acting in the film. Arjun Mathur is seen playing a prime suspect in an ongoing murder investigation. The film also stars Manoj Bajpayee and Prachi Desai in the lead roles.
Recently, when Box Office World Wide had an opportunity to chat with Arjun Mathur, he talked about how difficult it was for them to shoot during the pandemic and his future projects.
When asked how he felt after looking at people’s reaction to the trailer he said, “I feel good, the film is out after a year which was very difficult for everyone and after quite a while my work is been released, so I am happy.”
Arjun is playing a young, suave politician, MLA Ravi Khanna in the film talking about his character he said, “Although, I can’t talk much about my character. However, I must say the moment you see this character in the film you will feel suspicious. Though out the film you’ll have multiple questions about this character. This grabs the eyeballs of the audience. And this is the most interesting thing about my character which I like that he is grey since I have this clean boy image from my previous work this is quite different.”
When we asked him how he felt working in the ‘new normal’ she answered, “It was very tough on the set. Suddenly there are so many protocols and precautions for everyone. But honestly, at the same time as an actor, it was very difficult for us as once we are in front of the camera there is no mask and you are vulnerable. It is very difficult and an actor to maintain Covid protocol while filming. But in the end, it is what it is and we have to move on along with it and hope for the best.”
Do you feel OTT is a threat to the theatres, “I feel some content is good for OTT some are for Big screen. I am an actor and I want to be seen in every format whether it is OTT or big screen. I don’t feel OTT is the threat to Cinema there are much bigger threats right now we are facing.”
Lastly, before signing off he also told us about his plans and of course we did ask him when session two of Made in Heaven is arriving, “Yes, we are shooting for the second season of Made In Heaven in Delhi. Well, continue filming until July-August 2021. Hopefully, by the end of the year or early next year, everybody will get to see it.”
Are we going to see something new in Made in Heaven can you spill some beans? I mean obviously, there are a lot of twists and turns in the second session. Every character’s journey evolving and going two steps further. I’m quite surprised by the script and the direction each character is taking but I am very excited and I hope the audience will love it too.”
Apart from Made in Heaven what are your future projects? ”Well, I am doing second of The Gone Game then I am Lord Curzon Ki Haveli, which we are shooting this year. I have my hands full at least till September 2021.” He signed off.
