As the festival of colours arrives soon, there are 11 new movies in the list ready to be released pre Diwali on October 14. The latest news is that many of it have been subjected to theatrical releases, instead of digital on OTT (Over-the-top).
It comprises Ayushmann, Rakul Preet starrer Doctor G. It is directed by Anubhuti Kashyap and produced by Junglee Pictures. The production house and Ayushmann Khurrana joined hands for the third time after Bareilly ki Barfi and Badhaai Ho in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
Other films include “Modi ji ke Beti”, directed by Eddy Singh, “Love you Loktantra” starring Sapna Chaudhary and helmed by Abhay Nihalani. Anil Dutt’s “Kartoot”, Pratik Gandhi starrer “Kahani Rubberband Ki”, Anirban’s “Aye Zindagi” starring Revathi, Satyajeet Dubey, Shrikant Verma, Anil Singh Chandel’s “Mid Day Meal”, Vipin Kapoor directed “Jaggu ki Lalten”, Kantara starring Rishab Shetty, Kishore, Pramod Shetty.
Another is Ribhu Dasgupta directed Code Name: Tirangaa stars Harrdy Sandhu, Parineeti Chopra, Sharad Kelkar, Rajit Kapur, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Shishir Sharma, Sabyasachi Chakraborty and Deesh Mariwala. It has been reportedly made with a budget of 40 crore. The last but not the least is Chhelo Shaw (titled The Last Film Show in English) directed by Pan Nalin, as the official Oscar entry from India.
The latest box-office news on it is the combine business at Hindi box-office will be less than 1 cr nett on opening day of these 9 movies except Kantara and Doctor G that could open on fine numbers. Many of them like Doctor G, Code Name: Tiranga have been forced to release in theatres than on OTT due to failure of securing the digital rights. There is little or no marketing push for these and will have to face music at Box-Office.
