Diljit Dosanjh has a huge fan base all over the world. The singer-born actor shook up the Punjabi and Hindi film industry with his incredible performances.
The actor reported to be starring in Ali Abbas Zafar’s crime comedy, starring Diljit Dosanjh, Sumeet Vyas, Boman Irani, and Banita Sandhu. The movie is titled “Detective Sherdil” and it will see Dosanjh play the role of a clumsy investigator. Filming for the movie has already taken place in Budapest in 2021.
As per the details, a person close to the project said: “Detective Sherdil is a rookie, the story of an amateur detective, played by Diljit Dosanjh. It is a simulated comedy set in a criminal investigation. Ali Abbas Ali Abbas Zafar made Sikh unrest film Dosanjh plays a serious stage actor, and this film returned him to the comfortable space of comedy. October actress Banita Sandhu teamed up with him, and the roles of Boman Ilani and Sumet Vias are yet to be found clear”. Furthermore, the script for this film was written by Ali Abbas Zafar himself.
With this detective comedy-drama, Zafar’s long-time partner Ravi Chhabriya makes his directorial debut.
Detective Sherdil Is Waiting For Release For Two Years
Though film’s shoot was completed 18 months back but film is waiting for release. Film was suppose to premiere on Netflix. Ali Abbas Zafar’s another Diljit starter ‘Jogi’ released on Netflix. Another Ali Abbas Zafar directorial ‘Bloody Daddy’ starring Shahid Kapoor will be releasing on Jio Cinema on 9th June.
He made his Bollywood debut in 2016 with the crime thriller “Punjab” and won the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Actor for the film. However, subsequent films failed to further his career in the Hindi film industry. This changed with his supporting role in the comedy “Good Newwz” and he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in Filmfare. As of 2020, he has won the PTC award for best actor five times. He also served as a judge on all three seasons of the reality show “Rising Stars.” In 2020, Dosanjh entered the Billboard Social 50 chart after releasing the eleventh album G.O.A.T. Additionally; the album entered the top 20 of the Canadian album chart.
