Exclusive: From Pathan to Adipurush, big budget films that are expected to revive box office

Many prominent directors are planning for the theatrical release of their films now that the nationwide vaccination drive is moving at a rapid speed and the situation is expected to improve.

For the past year and a half, the film business has been harmed by the new coronavirus pandemic. Due to the lockdown, many much-anticipated films were unable to begin production on time, while those that were slated for release in theatres were unable to do so due to the shutdown of cinema houses across the country.

Many prominent directors are planning for the theatrical release of their films now that the nationwide vaccination drive is moving at a rapid speed and the situation is expected to improve.

Today we have brought to you a list of big budget films which all cinema lovers are eagerly waiting for and which are expected to revive box office.

Bell Bottom:

Bell Bottom, Akshay Kumar’s long-awaited film, now has a new release date. The filmmakers have set August 19 as the date for the film’s theatrical release. The movie was originally scheduled to release in theatres on April 2, but the producers then announced a July 27 release date. Huma Qureshi, Vaani Kapoor, and Lara Dutta co-star alongside Akshay Kumar in Bell Bottom.

Pathan:

People have been excitedly anticipating the film of Shah Rukh Khan and the wait will finally be over with the release of “Pathan.” Aside from King Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham are among the cast members.

Apart from India, the film was shot in the United Arab Emirates and Europe. In the film, SRK will play a spy agent. Simultaneously, John will demonstrate his strength by portraying the major villain. The film, directed by Siddharth Anand, will also have a cameo appearance by Salman Khan and will be released next year.

Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali:

Salman Khan had to give in to the pressure of having to release his film Radhe: India’s Most Wanted Bhai on the internet. This will not happen again. With his projected family film Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali, he is committed to get into movie cinemas for Eid or Diwali 2022.

Salman Khan stars in this supremely secular film, produced by his friend Sajid Nadiadwala, in which people of many religious faiths share the same roof, much like Salman Khan’s real-life family.

Sooryavanshi:

Sooryavanshi is last year’s biggest and most anticipated film which stars Akshay Kumar. However, due to the coronavirus epidemic, its release was postponed. The film also stars Katrina Kaif in addition to Akshay Kumar. Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn will appear in cameo roles in the action flick directed by Rohit Shetty.

The film is said to have a budget of 170 crores. The filmmakers will announce a release date once the theatres are operational.

RRR:

Produced by DVV Danayya, The SS Rajamouli helmed ensemble cast starrer is set to release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and several other India languages. The movie features the like of seasoned actors like Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in lead roles with Ajab Devgn and Alia Bhatt joining the projects in supporting roles among many others. The fans have been treated with poster releases and character reveals which has got the fans pupmed up.

83:

The film 83 is based on the life of Kapil Dev, the captain of India’s World Cup-winning cricket team in 1983. In this film, Ranveer Singh will portray Kapil Dev. Deepika Padukone will play his wife Romi Bhatia in the film. Pankaj Tripathi, R Badri, Amy Virk, Sahil Khattar, Nishant Dahiya, Dinkar Sharma, Chirag Patil, and Tahir Raj Bhasin are among the cast members of Kabir Khan’s film.

The film’s budget is estimated to be approximately Rs 125 crore. The film will also be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, in addition to Hindi. Given India’s cricket passion, it appears that this film based on the life of Kapil Dev will make new history. The person who made India the world champion for the first time forever changed the country’s perception of cricket.

Laal Singh Chaddha:

Aamir Khan generates a significant amount of interest in his movies among the general public as he is kmown for his perfection of characters that he portrays. His upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha, directed by Advait Chandan, will be centred on the Sikh riots and the demolition of the Babri Masjid. The film is based on the Hollywood blockbuster ‘Forrest Gump,’ and will star Kareena Kapoor Khan and Naga Chaitanya apart from Aamir Khan. This year, the film will be released on December 25, which is Christmas Day.

Brahmastra:

Brahmastra, starring Ranbir Kapoor, is a film that everyone is looking forward to seeing. For the first time, he appears onscreen alongside his actress girlfriend Alia Bhatt in this film. According to reports, the film’s budget will be around 300 crores, making it Bollywood’s most expensive film.

The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Akkineni Nagarjuna, in addition to Ranbir and Alia. This film is expected to be released in two parts, according to director Ayan Mukerji. The first instalment will be released later this year.

Ram Setu:

‘Ram Setu,’ starring Akshay Kumar, is a theology drama film. He will play an archaeologist in the film who delves into the secrets of the Rama Setu, which connects India and Sri Lanka. The film also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrat Bharucha in major roles. Abhishek Sharma is the director of the film. Next year, on the festival of Diwali, on October 14, the film will be released.

Gangubai Kathiawadi:

Alia Bhatt will star in the film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi,’ which is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, a well-known Bollywood filmmaker. Gangubai, who runs a brothel in Kamathipura near Mumbai, is the subject of the film. In addition to Alia, the film will feature Ajay Devgn and Parth Samthaan.

The film is based on the popular author S Hussain Zaidi’s novel “Mafia Queens of Mumbai.” Her spouse sells the main character for merely 500 rupees. The film will be released in theatres as soon as they are ready.

Radheshyam:

Featuring India’s biggest Pan-India star Prabhas, the movie makes number 1 on any given list. The movie features Prabhas returning to romantic genre after a decade and he will be seen in old school lover boy avatar which has got fans all excited who can’t wait to see him as Vikramaditya. He will be paired with Pooja Hegde in the film which is produced by UV Creations and T-Series the movie is helmed by Radha Krishna Kumar.

Annaatthe:

Annaatthe is a Tamil-language action drama film written and directed by Siva and produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner. The makers recently announced the release date of the film and we can’t keep calm. The film is all set to release on 4th November 2021.

Pushpa:

Sukumar’s next Telugu-language action movie Pushpa is written and directed by him. Allu Arjun, Fahadh Faasil, and Rashmika Mandanna star in the film, which is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers in collaboration with Muttamsetty Media.

Liger:

Deverakonda transforms into a full-fledged action star. He portrays a mixed martial artist who is out to avenge his family’s wrongdoing. The film has been doing a lot of noise on social media since it’s announcement and fans are eager to watch their favourite star on screen soon. Deverakonda will be making her debut in Bollywood with Liger and the film will see Ananya Panday as Vijay’s love interest.

KGF Chapter 2:

Featuring as the only sequel on the list is Chapter 2 in the KGF series. With the part 1 being a superhit, Yash returns to continue the story of Kolar Gold fields and this time he is joined by Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon in pivotal roles. The period action film is written and directed by Prashanth Neel, and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films.

Adipurush:

Prabhas is one of India’s most successful pan-India actors. He became famous all across the world with the release of Baahubali. He is now working on a number of projects. One of them is Adipurush, which is led by Om Raut.

In this mythical epic, Prabhas will play Lord Sriram. Sita will be played by Kriti Sanon, and Lankesh will be played by Saif Ali Khan. The shoot is currently taking place in the film unit. Adipurush is helmed on a budget of 400 Crores and will officially release on 9th August 2022.
