There have been times when Punjabi films have adapted certain subplots from Bollywood films but then we see the case of directly remaking a film. Binnu Dhillon’s upcoming film Gol Gappe is all set to release this year. The film has a similar plot to Priyadarshan’s Hera Pheri but there’s no mention about the same from the team.
Smeep Kang is helming Gol Gappe and Binnu Dhillon is straight coming out of the success of Jhalle. Rajat Bedi, BN Sharma, Navneet Dhillon and Ihana Dhillon are also a part of the film. Deepak Mukut, Manik Bedi, Bunty Raghav and Ilaa Bedi Dutta are backing Gol Gappe.
Our exclusive sources report us that the plotline of the film is somewhat similar to Priyadarshan’s Hera Pheri which starred Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal in the lead roles.
There are rumours that the makers haven’t officially bought the rights from Feroz Nadiadwala who was the original producer of the film. Now it’s to be seen what the producers of Hera Pheri decide and does this matter escalated from where it’s now.
