According to the reports, Bollywood star Salman Khan is expected to launch his new movie, a Hindi adaptation of the Tamil classic Master, next month. ‘Bhai’ saw the original version a while back and like it a lot.
The Hindi adaptation will reportedly differ from the Kollywood original in that the story will be changed to fit the image of the mainstream hero. Master was an action thriller directed by maverick filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj about a boisterous professor (Vijay) and his antagonist (‘Makkal Selvan’ Vijay Sethupathi).
Box Office Worldwide exclusively learnt that Lokesh Kanagaraj has been approached by the producer to direct the Hindi remake of Master as well, but Lokesh has yet to confirm the deal due to his multiple commitments. His upcoming projects include Vikram, Thalapathy67, Kaithi2, and an upcoming Telugu film starring anyone from NTR, Prabhas, MB, or Ram Charan. As a result, the producers are on the lookout for a new director.
Despite Covid-19 restrictions, Master, which starred Malavika Mohanan and Andrea Jeremiah as the leading ladies, was a huge blockbuster during Pongal. It will be interesting to see if the Hindi version measures up to the original’s high standards.
