Merry Christmas Fails To Hold On Weekdays
Film was carrying low pre release buzz due to dull music and cliche trailer. Film didn’t appeal to masses which is need of hour and that’s why low opening was expected.
Film opened to low numbers on day one morning and due to mixed reports, film failed to grow throughout the day. Film collected 2.30 cr nett Hindi (2.55 cr nett all India) on day one which is way below par. Film jumped by 52% on day two and collected 3.40 cr nett Hindi (3.75 cr nett all India). Film will cross 3.75 cr nett Hindi (4.10 cr nett all India) on day three with marginal growth.
Film crossed 9 cr nett Hindi and 10 cr nett including dubbed languages over weekend which is very poor total. Film needed bigger jumps over weekend for any chance after such a low opening day.
Film collected poor 1.50 cr nett on Monday which was 35% drop from day one. Film has started to struggle on weekdays and will finish with under 25 cr nett lifetime. Flop show from Sreeram Raghavan after super hit and acclaimed Andhadun!

Makers Release New Merry Christmas ‘twist’ Trailer, Tries To Promote Film Despite Rejection At Box Office
The makers of Merry Christmas dropped a new ‘twist’ trailer on Tuesday following the release of the Vijay Sethupathi-Katrina Kaif-starrer on January 12, providing a fresh glimpse into the Sriram Raghavan directorial from the perspective of Katrina’s character.
Set to Italian composer Vivaldi’s Winter section from his violin concerti The Four Seasons, the new trailer introduces us to Katrina’s Maria who is at a restaurant with her little daughter. She gazes at Vijay’s Albert sitting across from them. “Christmas ke dino mein kisi ko akele nahi hona chahiye (No one should be alone on Christmas),” Katrina mutters as she comes out of a theatre with the little girl and Albert in tow.
We also get to see other characters from the film such as Sanjay Kapoor’s M and Radhika Apte, adding to the adrenaline rush with their intriguing presence. The trailer ends with a hint that a third person was waiting inside Katrina’s apartment when Katrina and Vijay returned there after their Christmas eve date.
Sharing the new trailer on Instagram, Katrina wrote, “The story of this Christmas is far from merry. Presenting the twist in the tale
