The much-awaited sequel to the super hit horror-comedy movie Stree is all set to go on floors from July 1st in Chanderi. The principal photography of the movie is expected to last for three months. The movie is scheduled to release on August 31, 2024. The makers of the movie have announced last month the release date and shared details regarding Bhediya 2, another movie in the horror-cinematic universe.
Stree 2 will feature Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and other actors. The first movie was a huge success and was loved by the audience for its unique storyline and comic timing. The sequel is expected to be even more entertaining and thrilling.
The movie will be shot extensively in Chanderi, a small town in Madhya Pradesh. The town is known for its beautiful palaces, forts, and temples. The makers of the movie have chalked out a three-month schedule for the shoot. Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor will start shooting from July 1 and Pankaj Tripathi will join the shoot on 10th July for one month.

Horror Universe Of Stree And Bhediya
Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe has been a hit among Indian audiences, with Stree being the most successful film of the franchise. The universe started with Stree and continued with Roohi and Bhediya. Stree 2 and Bhediya 2 are now gearing up for a 2024 and 2025 release respectively. The horror-cinematic universe, curated by Dinesh Vijan, is one of the most loved movie universes in the country. Stree starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and Pankaj Tripathi took the box office by storm and netted over Rs 100 crores in India. Roohi starring Jahnvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and Varun Tripathi was also a commercial success. The character of Stree was briefly seen in the song Thumkeshwari from Bhediya.
Bhediya revolves around the story of a werewolf and has its roots in popular folklore and is inspired by legendary tales of Arunachal Pradesh, where the movie was also shot. Bhediya, produced by Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, also stars Deepak Dobriyal and Abhishek Banerjee in pivotal roles. The film released in theaters in 2D and 3D on November 25, 2022 and was average at box office.
Going by Amar Kaushik’s vision to create the horror-comedy universe, Bhediya will make an appearance in Stree 2. The writers at Film Companion took a shot at predicting what lies ahead in the Bhediya–Stree Kaushik-verse. The post-credit scene in Bhediya showed the men from both films meeting. The sequels will take Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe to new heights.
