Mirzapur is finally out and it is getting all the love and appreciations from the audience and critics. The 10-episode second season is drenched in enmity and revenge, ambition and greed, lust and crime. Be it Pankaj Tripathi, as Kaleen Bhaiya aka Akhandanand Tripathi or Divyendu Sharma as Munna Tripathi or Rasika Dugal as Beena Tripathi, each and every character have its own fan base. In fact, Mirzapur is one of the Indian series which have a cult following.

While there are immensely talented actors in the series the character which stands out every time it appears on-screen is Rasika Dugal as Beena Tripathi. The actress undoubtedly impressed us with her performances in films like Tu Hai Mera Sunday, Hamid, Lootcase, Manto and more.

As the sensuous Beena is back to trick Trapathis, Box Office Worldwide had an exclusive chat with the actor, who spoke about her journey from season 1 to Mirzapur season 2.

Talking about her character and what was her reaction when she was offered this role she said, “I was pleasantly surprised to know that someone would offer me a character like that. I had just finished Manto before the season one was offered to me and Beena was completely different from my previous role which I have done in my past projects. I was surprised which the casting director offered me this. Initially, I thought it was a mistake that they want me to do such a role. Beena is very different from me, she is quite sensuous and manipulative and someone who has this magnetic aura around her. I was excited about the role when it was offered to me.”

When we asked her how difficult it is to work with such immensely talented actors around you, she said, “It is very easy to work with actors who are talented, on the contrary, it is difficult to work with actors who are not a talent, because they make your job easier. Whether it’s Pankaj, Divyenndu or Kulbhushan Kharbanda as most of my scene were with them are immensely great actors and this made my work effortless. I believe you can’t create magic with your co-actor.”

As she was quite happy to work with her co-actor we asked her some BTS moments, on which she shared an incident, “Divyenndu and Pankaj are very funny off-camera. Especially Pankaj brings his witness in his characters also he improvises anything in between the scene.” Remembering an incident Rasika said, “In one of the scenes I was lying down on the bed we were into the character and Pankaj was supposed to say ‘Oh, Beena’ but inside of that he improvised it and said ‘Oh, Binni’ and I cracked up laughing.”

We asked her what’s her favourite character in both the seasons, “In season one, Divyendu Sharma’s character Munna Bhaiya was my favourite. In season two I would love to play Vijay Varma’s two characters Tyagi’s twins. Since I was a huge Sridevi fan and watching her playing a double role in Chaalbaaz was like a delight for me. Since then I wanted to do a double role, since its a great thing to explore as an actor.”

Mirzapur is getting such an immense response, we asked her did she expected this. To this, she said, “We didn’t expect this, even though we knew its a good script and we worked hard for it but till the release of season one, I had no idea that this series will get this kind of response. People are tracking it making some most hilarious and creative memes it is amazing to see all of this. I had no idea after session one there will be a session two and watching that a series has reached to such a wide audience, I was very happy to see that session two has taken that on to another level.”

Spreading some light on her upcoming project she said, “I have just completed Delhi Crime season two, it is post-production. I will also be shooting for Out Of Love season 2 from next week.”
