Filmmaker Sajid Khan, who began his career with a successful streak of commercial entertainers, has stepped back into the director’s chair after a brief break. Unlike his earlier comedy-driven outings, his new project titled Hundred explores the horror space, marking a notable shift in genre for the director.
Hundred Being Shot In Bhopal
According to sources close to the production, the makers quietly kick-started filming in Mumbai’s Film City on Friday, January 23. The date was chosen deliberately to align with the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchmi. The report stated that the makers have begun the shoot of the next scheduler of film in Bhopal couple of days back where majority of the film will be completed.
Yashvardhan Ahuja makes acting debut
The horror film also serves as the launchpad for Yashvardhan Ahuja, son of actor Govinda and wife Sunita Ahuja. Sharing screen space with him is Nitanshi Goel, who won praise for her performance in Laapataa Ladies (2024). The pairing is already generating curiosity among industry watchers.
Hundred’ is backed by producer Amar Butala along with Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor. Amar Butala’s production credits include titles such as Mission Majnu (2023), Mission Mangal (2019), Kesari (2019), Total Dhamaal (2019), Tubelight (2017) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015). He had also served as associate producer on Himmatwala (2013), which was incidentally directed by Sajid Khan himself.
Interestingly, this project brings Sajid Khan back to the genre that marked his earliest steps as a filmmaker. He had previously directed a segment in the horror anthology Darna Zaroori Hai (2006), making Hundred a symbolic return to familiar territory.
