When Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani were cast in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Kabir Singh, they turned heads. The release was a remake of the renowned Telugu film Arjun Reddy, which starred Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey. Shahid had stepped into Vijay’s shoes for Kabir Singh, and his performance was well-received by both the crowd and the critics. The film became the talk. of the town and even broke a lot of records at the box office.

Now, Shahid has been cast in yet another Bollywood remake of the Telugu movie Jersey, following the phenomenal success of Kabir Singh. The film, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, would star Shahid in the starring role of a cricketer, as well as Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur in the key roles.

The interesting thing now is that Shahid will be again repeating his history. It is because Jersey will follow the same pattern as Kabir Singh. As it was in the film Kabir Singh, even in Jersey, the director, producer of the film is the same as the original film. Shahid will again step into the shoes of a Telugu actor and will act in the same story just with a language change.

Now, the question is if Shahid Kapoor will give us the same outcome that he gave with Kabir Singh. It’s also a fact that with Kabir Singh, the expectations of the audience were not so high but now, as he already delivered an outstanding film with a performance that’s worth watching, he must be going with peer pressure about fulfilling the people’s expectations and giving his best.

Only time will tell if Shahid Kapoor will again break box office records with Jersey.
