Directed by Krishna DK, Raj Nidimoru, Farzi stars Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi. It released on February 10, 2023 on Amazon Prime, also marking Vijay’s OTT debut.
Plot
Shahid acts as Sunny (Conman), Vijay as a law enforcement officer named Michael attempting to chase him down. It seems to be cat and mouse race between the duo. It showcases Shahid and his team making ‘nakli notes (counterfeits)’ and become affluent overnight.
Analysis
Shahid is superb, while Vijay Sethupathi is brilliant in acting. Kay Kay Menon appears to be average. Rashi Khanna and Regina Cassandra deliver fine. There is seamless way of speaking sarcastic one-liners from Vijay’s side. One remains hooked with the writing done and the screenplay, including top-notch cinematography.

Verdict
It seems to a familiar narrative but is added with Raj & DK’s usual skills of putting shrewd repartee, deft character sketches and high-octane action sequences. The cast is well-picked and fabulous. Meeting of the family man and Farzi on a spy universe is masterstroke. Makers have tried to showcase cinematic convenience to readers and raised curiosity for the second season.
