Siddharth Anand is elated about the massive success of ‘Pathaan’, his magnum opus with Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham in the key roles. The movie also marked the beginning of the YRF Spy Universe. The movie ‘War’ served as the seed for Spy Universe, according to Siddharth Anand. Siddharth said, “I had a talk with Adi (Aditya Chopra) after the success of War about expanding this universe and doing some crossover.”

“I don’t think this was at the back of anyone’s mind when the 2 Tiger pictures were made or when War was made,” the director continues. We only considered a universe after War was a commercial success.” Siddharth Anand’s Pathaan has made 630 Crores Worldwide. According to Pinkvilla, Siddharth Anand confirmed that it was Aditya Chopra who gave an Idea about the crossover between ‘Tiger’ and ‘Pathaan’. “It was Adi’s idea to do a crossover with Salman in ‘Pathaan’. We could have got Hrithik or any other actor on board too, but to have Salman and Shah Rukh in a film doing action has not happened before. I think the last time they were doing action together was in 1996 with Karan Arjun. Fortunately, Adi had the IP of Tiger to do this crossover and the result is fantastic.” Siddharth smiled.

Reportedly when a press member asked the director, “While Shah Rukh Khan’s portrayal of the title role has the theaters packed and is poised to produce the highest-grossing Hindi film ever, there has been talk regarding John Abraham’s portrayal of Jim, the film’s adversary. Does Jim’s backstory appear in a movie?” Siddharth Anand replied, “It should be, but it’s too early to talk about anything. I feel Jim’s character does warrant a prequel.”
