Amazon prime’s new series Tandav starring Saif Ali Khan has fallen into trouble. According to the reports an FIR had been filed at the Hazratganj police station in Lucknow against director Ali Abbas Zafar, producer Himanshu Kishan Mehra, writer Gaurav Solanki, Amazon India’s content head Aparna Purohit and others. The First Information Report has been filed for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.
Starring Dimple Kapadia, Sunil Grover, Kumud Mishra, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub, Kritika Kamra and Gauahar Khan the show is a 9-part series is a political drama.
The FIR has been filed under sections 153A, 295, 505(1)(B), 469 of the Indian Penal Code, and under sections 66, 66F, 67 of the IT (Amendment) Act.
The FIR mentioned that the show depicts a completely negative image of the Prime Minister of India. It also hurts religious feelings, and portrays Hindi gods and goddesses in an objectionable manner. As per the complaint the series promotes caste divide.
Now following the controversy police protection has been given to Saif Ali Khan and wife Kareena Kapoor Khan.
