The first look poster of the upcoming movie ‘The Vaccine War‘ was released today. The poster features the lead actors Anupam Kher, Nana Patekar, Raima Sen, and Pallavi Joshi in a hospital setting, surrounded by medical syringes and lab rats.
The movie is directed by Vivek Agnihotri, who is known for his controversial and hard-hitting films such as ‘The Tashkent Files’ and ‘Buddha in a Traffic Jam’. The movie is based on the true story of the development of the Covaxin, India’s indigenous vaccine against Covid-19, during the pandemic. The movie will showcase the challenges, struggles, and achievements of the scientists, doctors, and frontline workers who worked tirelessly to save lives and protect the nation.

The Vaccine War Song Launch At Times Square
The movie also created history by becoming the first Indian movie to have a song launch at Times Square in New York on September 5th. The title song ‘Shristhi se pehele’, which comprises of Shlokas from Rigveda, describing the creation of the Universe was performed in the form of Kathak in New York. The song is composed by Rohit Sharma and sung by Sukhwinder Singh and Shreya Ghoshal. The song is said to be a tribute to the ancient Indian wisdom and science.

The Vaccine War Release Date and Cast
The movie is slated to release on September 28, 2023, coinciding with the World Rabies Day. The movie has a star-studded cast that includes Anupam Kher as Dr. Harsh Vardhan, the Union Health Minister of India; Nana Patekar as Dr. Krishna Ella, the founder and chairman of Bharat Biotech; Raima Sen as Dr. Suchitra Ella, the co-founder and joint managing director of Bharat Biotech; Pallavi Joshi as Dr. Renu Swarup, the secretary of the Department of Biotechnology; Sapthami Gowda as Dr. Priya Abraham, the director of National Institute of Virology; Girija Oak as Dr. Gagandeep Kang, the executive director of Translational Health Science and Technology Institute; Mohan Kapur as Dr. Balram Bhargava, the director general of Indian Council of Medical Research; and Paritosh Sand as Dr. Vinod Paul, the member of NITI Aayog.
The movie is produced by Abhishek Agarwal Arts and I Am Buddha and is expected to be a gripping and inspiring tale of India’s vaccine war against Covid-19.
