2026 marks a significant milestone as it will be the first time since 2018 that Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan will all have theatrical releases. The last time this happened was 8 years ago when Salman released Race 3, SRK presented Zero, and Aamir brought Thugs Of Hindostan to cinemas. This rare occurrence has trade experts excited about the box office potential of 2026.
Salman Khan will arrive with his war film Battle Of Galwan on April 17, 2026. Shah Rukh Khan’s King will release in late 2026. Meanwhile, Aamir Khan will be seen in an extended cameo in his production Lahore 1947, co-starring Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Ali Fazal, and Shabana Azmi. He will also have a special appearance in his other production Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos.
Trade Experts Confident About Salman’s Mass Appeal
Trade veteran Taran Adarsh expressed excitement about the development. He stated that Salman is the darling of the masses and he just needs to get it right. Once that happens, there will be no stopping as his fan following takes his films to another level.
Trade analyst Atul Mohan agreed, noting that Battle Of Galwan looks nice. He pointed out that the public has been kind to Salman. Even when his films are weak, they make sure it collects 100 crores. Sikandar also crossed the coveted mark. Salman is the only consistent star who gives 100 crore grossers, according to Mohan.
Mixed Reactions To Battle Of Galwan Teaser
However, distributor and exhibitor Raj Bansal expressed disappointment with the Battle Of Galwan teaser. He felt they should have shown blood on Salman’s face with him shouting and charging angrily at the Chinese soldiers. Such visuals would have attracted audiences in hordes, he believed.
Despite the mixed reactions to the teaser, the consensus remains that Salman’s star power will ensure strong business for the film. His ability to pull in the masses regardless of content quality has been proven time and again.
King Expected To Deliver King Sized Entertainment
Talking about King, Taran Adarsh stated that Shah Rukh Khan is number 1 to number 5 in India and number 1 to number 10 overseas. He expressed confidence that audiences should wait till King comes. Besides having Shah Rukh Khan and a massive star cast, he is sure that Siddharth Anand will be coming up with something very different this time as the stakes are high. When you have a title like King, you need to serve king sized entertainment.
Atul Mohan also appeared confident despite the average business of SRK’s last film. He noted that Dunki underperformed and that is okay. One average picture is forgiven. Also, Pathaan and Jawan were huge grossers, so Shah Rukh Khan’s track record remains strong overall.

On Lahore 1947, Taran Adarsh said the combination of Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi has delivered some fantastic films that were also successful at the box office. Atul Mohan added that Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi’s combination has always been great. Sunny got 2 National Awards and both were for films directed by Rajkumar Santoshi: Ghayal in 1990 and Damini in 1993. With Aamir associated with the project and it being a subject close to Rajkumar Santoshi’s heart, expectations are high.
