2020 has come like bad news for India’s most prestigious film production companies Fox Star India. The company is facing back to back financial setbacks. First, with Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak and then Ashwini Iyer Tiwari’s Panga have both underperformed severely at the box office in addition to it, Coronavirus outbreak plays havoc with the schedules and budget. Now according to the reports, Fox Star India had pulled out of its collaboration with Karan Johar for Takht.
It has also been said that it can be the beginning of the end of Karan Johar’s collaboration with Fox Star. Karan Johar and Fox Star have been working hand in hand for the past 10 years now. However, since the Fox Star’s CEO, Vijay Singh has put in his papers the studio is re-looking its long-standing association with Karan and his Dharma Productions.
And it started with Karan’s ambitious project Takht which is apparently one of the most expensive Dharma-Fox collaboration of all times.
A daily quoted a source as saying, “So, Dharma had no approached Fox for Takht since they are already collaborating with them on Brahmastra which is itself a massive project. So, them backing out is not true! And the project is not being shelved either.”
