What started as a series of funny promo videos, from the “apple vs mutiny” spelling bee to the “retirement plan” accusations, has turned into a real movement. Fans in both cities are showing their full “josh” (excitement), and everyone is loudly campaigning for their side. The big question is still unanswered: which city will win?
Team Kanpur’s Sweet Support
Team Kanpur has taken a deliciously creative route to show their support for Akshay Kumar. A new video from the city’s iconic sweet shop, ‘Thaggu Ke Laddu’, has gone viral. In the clip, the shopkeeper playfully announces that he will give extra laddoos to anyone whose name is Jolly, Jagdish, or Mishra. In a funny twist, he adds that since the shop’s name means ‘Cheat’s Laddoo’, they will even give a laddoo to anyone who tries to ‘cheat’ them for a freebie! It’s a sweet and hilarious tribute to Kanpur’s own Jolly Mishra.
Meerut’s Massive Fan Rally
Not to be left behind, the fans in Meerut are showing their power with a full-on public campaign for Arshad Warsi. A video from Meerut shows a huge crowd of enthusiastic supporters taking to the streets. Many are seen wearing paper masks of Arshad Warsi’s face and holding banners that declare their love for Jolly Tyagi. Their argument is simple and passionate: Jagdish Tyagi is a son of Meerut, he studied law in Meerut, and therefore, the trailer for his film must be launched in his hometown.
