Ganapath Controversy Resurfaces: Faraz Khan Alleges Non-Payment by Pooja Entertainment
Just when Ganapath had slipped off our radar, the 2023 sci-fi action movie is now back in the news headlines — for upsetting reasons. Actor Faraz Khan, who played a supporting role in Vikas Bahl’s project starring Tiger Shroff, is accusing Pooja Entertainment — headed by Vashu Bhagnani — of not paying him his dues of ₹3 lakh.
The actor put up a story on Instagram airing his grievances while also calling out the production publicly as well, giving a deadline to address it before he takes philanthropic action.
“I Will Not Be Silenced”: Faraz Khan Comes Out Against Abuse
Faraz Khan, who played the character Thabeel, explained how he did his part for the film with co-actor Armaan Khera, who played his twin. While Armaan received full payment, Faraz claims he is still waiting for payment — nearly two years from wrapping.
Faraz’s Alarming Message States
“Show the industry and public how Pooja Entertainment treats their actors: dishonesty, disrespect, and keeping them for a long time intentionally. I will not go quietly!”
He continued his story that every time he contacted the studio about his production, he received the runaround, vague answers, or enough to keep him quiet. His claim brings up the question of whether there is systemic neglect toward lesser-known actors as opposed to promptly paying for the good-faith actors who have the screen time.
Threat of Legal Action, As Faraz Khan Gives An Ultimatum
Faraz’s public statement went on to say that either Pooja Entertainment pays him the money they owe him and then issues a public apology, or he will “legally go stronger” along with informing the press.
“Pay your people. Pay it to respect the contracts with your crew and cast. Stop deinstitutionalising harassment of independent artists. Faraz ended up calling the situation a “disgrace” and “unprofessional”.
His allegations raise concerns over ethical standards and workers’ rights in relation to the Bollywood production climate and especially in relation to the supporting cast and crew.
Pooja Entertainment’s Erratic Finances Don’t Get One Less Out of Control for Concern
Faraz Khan’s allegations are the latest in a series of flags raising questions related to Pooja Entertainment’s finances. The banner appears to be taking significant financial losses, which were compounded by disappointing returns on their last two films, Ganapath and Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan. Both underperformed, and the films had large budgets with major stars attached.
In the lead-up to 2024, industry periods reported that some crew members from these films had filed complaints against Pooja Entertainment regarding unpaid dues, with sources claiming that only the lead actors received full pay. This current issue sounds indicative of wider financial troubles and offers Pooja Entertainment no harm due to the explosion of silence about their alleged losses thus far.
BoxOfficeWorldwide’s Verdict
What started as a huge sci-fi special effects intrigue is now a marketing cautionary tale. While Ganapath may not be taking to box office heights, the continuing controversy behind the camera gives fans and critics alike much more to talk about than the movie may have to offer. Faraz Khan’s brave position highlights the plight of independent artistic creators in Bollywood — and if Pooja Entertainment doesn’t address this quickly enough, this issue could turn into an all-out industry disaster.
