According to the recent information Sony Pictures is working on a big-budget movie based on the famous Ganga hijack case that happened on January 30, 1971.

As per the reports, the purpose is to make it a patriotic drama. The story will show how Raw used a teenaged Kashmiri boy as a double agent who would go on to facilitate the isolation of Pakistan from East Pakistan (now Bangladesh).

As of now the studio is working on the script with the in-house writers. The plan is to make it a hue scale project.

“It’s currently at the nascent stage and hence will take some time to get off the ground. The team has done an intense research to get a solid script for the project. Once they’re ready with the script, the studio will approach directors and actors. The timeline of shooting is not decided but it’s expected to go on floors only later next year,” a daily quoted a source as saying.

Meanwhile, Sony Pictures Networks India is set to bring Vidya Balan’s Shakuntala Devi that premieres directly on Amazon Prime Video on 31st July.
