Ghudchadi marks the directorial debut of Binnoy K. Gandhi, who has assembled an impressive cast featuring Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Khushalii Kumar, Parth Samthaan, and Aruna Irani.
The film promises a delightful blend of comedy, romance, and drama, aiming to offer a family-friendly experience. Produced by Gandhi alongside Nidhi Dutta, the film is expected to cater to a broad audience with its engaging storyline and dynamic performances.
Binnoy K Gandhi, new to directing, has drawn on the expertise of several industry veterans. His work as an assistant director under Ram Gopal Varma, Kunal Kohli, and Siddharth Anand has heavily influenced his approach.
Notably, his father-in-law, JP Dutta, a renowned filmmaker, has also contributed to his creative journey. Gandhi admitted in an interview with Mid Day that discussing scripts with Dutta, despite his nervousness, has been incredibly educational.
Plot Details Of This Film
The plot of Ghudchadi revolves around Aruna Irani playing a grandmother who hopes for a successful marriage for her grandson, unaware of her son Sanjay Dutt’s plans to remarry.
The film explores the comedic and dramatic tension that arises from this family dynamic. Gandhi revealed that producer Nidhi Dutta was instrumental in casting Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon together, believing their presence would enhance the film’s appeal. Dutt was intrigued by the film’s concept, while Tandon was impressed with the screenplay.
Nidhi Dutta, who sees Ghudchadi as her “first child,” was particularly enthusiastic about Irani’s role. She praised Irani’s dedication, noting that the actress worked long hours from dawn until late evening with great commitment. Dutta’s belief in the film’s potential was reflected in her meticulous approach to its production.
Gandhi has likened the film’s style to the slice-of-life comedies of the legendary Hrishikesh Mukherjee. He hopes to achieve even a fraction of Mukherjee’s cinematic impact with Ghudchadi.
