The director is building multiple sets including a café, police station, and a palatial residence for the Ajay Devgn starrer that will kick off its marathon schedule from February end 2026. Film City Mumbai Chosen Over Ramoji And Goa
Rohit Shetty is known for shooting major portions of his films in Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad or in the scenic locations of Goa. However, with Golmaal 5, the director has made an exception and chosen Film City in Mumbai as the primary shooting location. This strategic decision ensures that the entire cast can be available easily without extensive travel requirements.
Multiple elaborate sets are being constructed simultaneously at the Film City complex. These include a fully functional café, a detailed police station, and an impressive palatial residence that will feature in key sequences of the film. Lake Filling Request Rejected By Authorities
The makers initially wanted to create an even bigger set and had suggested filling up the lake inside Film City. However, the Film City authorities turned down this request citing ecological concerns. The lake is home to several crocodiles, making it not just impractical but impossible to fill it up for a film shoot.
The authorities explained that such a move could harm the region ecologically and pose safety risks. Rohit Shetty and his core team understood this reasoning and agreed to construct the set near the lake in the Film City complex instead. This compromise ensures that the film gets the visual impact it needs while respecting environmental considerations.
Original Cast Returns With New Additions
Golmaal 5 will see the return of the beloved original cast including Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, and Kunal Kemmu. The gang that has entertained audiences across four blockbuster films is all set to create magic once again with their impeccable comic timing and chemistry.
In an exciting development, Sharman Joshi, who featured in the original Golmaal film released in 2006, will reportedly make a comeback to the franchise.
