Gunmaaster G9 Release Date Out: Emraan Hashmi, Aditya Datt And Himesh Reshammiya Reunite For November 27, 2026

Nearly two decades after one of Hindi cinema’s most distinctly moody hit collaborations, Emraan Hashmi, Aditya Datt and Himesh Reshammiya are back in sync, this time for a spy thriller with a locked theatrical date. Gunmaaster G9 will release worldwide on November 27, 2026, giving the reunion a solid commercial target and turning the film into a major marker on Hashmi’s upcoming slate.

Hashmi stars in the film as Agent Eshwar, also known as Agent G9, in a stylish spy drama conceived as a tribute to Mithun Chakraborty’s 1979 film Surakksha. Genelia D’Souza and Aparshakti Khurana join him in key roles, adding a fresh dynamic to a film that blends action, romance and emotional stakes. With its retro spy roots and contemporary packaging, Gunmaaster G9 stands as a confident attempt to revive an old-school Hindi thriller spirit for a new theatrical audience.

Gunmaaster G9 Locks November 27, 2026 Release With A High-Profile Creative Reunion

The newly announced release date confirms that the film is headed for a full-scale theatrical rollout late next year. Production has already travelled across Mumbai, Haridwar and Mussoorie, with Mumbai hosting an extensive car chase sequence mounted as one of the film’s major action highlights.

Producer Deepak Mukut said, “We were keen to bring Emraan Hashmi, Aditya Datt and Himesh Reshammiya together once again, and Gunmaaster G9 has given us the opportunity to do just that. Romance, action and music form a heady cocktail in the film, and it has come together beautifully.”

Director Aditya Datt added, “Gunmaaster G9 has been one of the most demanding yet exhilarating films of my career. Our endeavour was to ensure that every action sequence, every emotion and every frame carries a sense of impact. Reuniting with Emraan and Himesh after all these years has been an extraordinary experience, and I am excited for audiences to see what we have created.”

That reunion is central to the film’s appeal. Datt directed Hashmi in Aashiq Banaya Aapne, while Reshammiya’s music became a defining part of that era’s pop-cultural recall. Gunmaaster G9 now carries the task of channeling that nostalgia into a contemporary commercial action package.

Emraan Hashmi’s Recent And Upcoming Work

As Gunmaaster G9 moves closer to release, the film also fits neatly into Hashmi’s current run of projects, which has seen him balance theatrical titles with streaming work while staying rooted in intense, high-stakes storytelling. His last few confirmed releases include Selfiee and Tiger 3 in 2023, followed by Ground Zero, which reached theatres on April 25, 2025. On the digital front, he is also part of Netflix’s Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web, a 2026 series that adds another dark, high-stakes title to his current lineup.

That broader career context makes Gunmaaster G9 an especially notable move. It places Hashmi back in a zone strongly associated with his screen persona, music-led intensity and thriller-driven storytelling, while giving him a star vehicle built around a full-fledged spy identity. For an actor balancing reinvention with recall value, this film could become one of the defining theatrical plays of his present phase.
