Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior just hit the theater and getting a good response so far. Now the actor is all set to come up with two biopics Bhuj – The Pride Of India and Maidaan. Maidaan is a sports drama film where the actor will be seen playing the role of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. Rahim has coached India to victory at the Asian Games in 1951 and 1962.

Ajay recently wrapped up Kolkata schedule and while talking about the film the actor said, the Indian football team was known as the Brazil of Asia back in the day. He got to know a lot about Rahim in the process of the film. When the makers come to him with the film the had no idea about him. The actor thinks it would be more interesting for today’s generation to know his work.

While working on the film in Kolkata the actor also met former Indian football star PK Banerjee who played under Syed Abdul Rahim. The actor finds it an emotional experience. Ajay said it was difficult for him to talk because of his age but he has been one of the greats who has played the game. He said that he admires people like him who took helped India to achieve new heights.

The film is produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta. Directed by Amit Sharma, screenplay and dialogues are written by Saiwyn Quadros and Ritesh Shah respectively Maidaan will release on November 27, 2020.
