Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster film Jawan gave fans plenty to talk about, especially one iconic line. The line, “TV pe Simba tha, ye Mufasa hai” (On TV, there was Simba, this is Mufasa), quickly became a fan favourite. But here’s the twist — it wasn’t originally Shah Rukh’s idea.
Shah Rukh Khan Talks About This Popular Jawan Dialogue In Mufasa: The Lion King’s New Promo
In a new video shared by Disney India, Shah Rukh revealed how the famous line came about. He explained that the dialogue was meant to show a strong father-son connection.
He said, “Film Jawan ke andar line jo thi wo baap hai wo beta hai, toh suddenly Atlee ne kaha isse Mufasa aur Simba karenge hum” (In Jawan, it had the father-son dynamic and then Atlee suggested, ‘Let’s make it Mufasa and Simba’).
The line, “Jo TV pe tune dekha tha wo Sher ka bacha tha, ye khud Sher hai” (The one you saw on TV was the cub of a lion, this one is the lion himself), created a powerful link to Disney’s The Lion King.
Shah Rukh also spoke about how he connected with Mufasa. He shared that he relates to the lion king’s wisdom, strength, and compassion, qualities he believes everyone strives to embody.
He also remembered how his hair used to resemble Mufasa’s iconic mane when he was younger.
Fans went wild after watching the video. One fan tweeted, “Can’t wait to see the magic of SRK, Aryan, and AbRam together on screen!” Another commented, “How is he so adorable?!”
Many others praised SRK for showing kindness, sweetness, and family values. Fans also couldn’t help but recall Jawan’s unforgettable moments.
