Historical: Tom Cruise ‘Top Gun Maverick’ Becomes 5th Highest-Grossing Film In North America BO, Crosses ‘Black Panther’ Collections!

Top Gun Maverick began premiering in theatres from May 27. It crossed the $1 billion mark to become Tom Cruise's highest-grossing film of his professional journey.

Joseph Kosinski directed and Tom Cruise starrer Top Gun Maverick has become the 5th highest-grossing film ever in history. Interestingly, it has surpassed Marvel studios’ backed Black Panther. It is the follow-up to the 1986 movie Top Gun and the second installment in the Top Gun movie series.

Top Gun Maverick began premiering in theatres from May 27. It crossed the $1 billion mark to become Tom Cruise’s highest-grossing film of his professional journey. As per IndieWire, it is available on iTunes, Google Play, and Vudu, where the rent is $19.99 and has been performing well on digital.

Media publication Variety said that Top Gun 2″ shifted back to the top of the box office table over Labor Day weekend, collecting $701 million as aggregate sales. It succeeded Black Panther which received $700.4 million at the North American Box Office.
