Vijay Sethupathi, a popular Tamil actor, is set to make his Bollywood debut in the upcoming Hindi-language action thriller film, Jawan. Directed by Atlee, the film stars Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role, with Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra, and Priyamani in supporting roles. Vijay Sethupathi will play the antagonist in the film, which is produced by Shah Rukh’s production company, Red Chillies Entertainment, and is set to release in theaters across five languages in June 2023.

Vijay Sethupathi then casually shared his wish of playing an antagonist against Shah Rukh Khan to the Bollywood actor during Nayanthara-Vignesh Shivan wedding. But his wish turned true shortly as Shah Rukh Khan also liked his idea, and the popular South actor was then roped in to play the antagonist in Jawan which is directed by Atlee.

In an interview, Vijay Sethupathi praised Shah Rukh Khan, calling him a gentleman and saying that he had a “really good time” working with him on Jawan. He also revealed that he was nervous on the first day of the shoot, but Shah Rukh went out of his way to make him feel comfortable. Shah Rukh was reportedly “gentle and sweet,” and even though he didn’t have a scene on the first day, he was there to make Vijay Sethupathi feel at ease.
