On Thursday, Jackie Shroff and Kailash Kher shared pictures from their meeting with Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath in Mumbai. Presenting Uttar Pradesh as a film-friendly state, CM Yogi has arrives on a two-day visit to Mumbai. Many Celebs including Boney Kapoor, Sonu Nigam and Suniel Shetty attended the event. The CM offered various subsidies to lure filmmakers and producers to the state.

Singer Kailash Kher also shared a few pictures and wrote in Hindi, “After the recording, I and SonuNigam Ji met the worthy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh @myogiadityanath @myogioffice and eminent personalities of the film industry. The topic of discussion was that maximum number of people should come and film their art in Uttar Pradesh.”

Asking about his take on Uttar Pradesh as a film-friendly state, Singer Sonu Nigam told AajTak, “We have seen a lot of changes in Uttar Pradesh over the years. There has been a lot of safety and peace there. People have started understanding.” Comparing UP with Maharashtra, he added, “If a film city opens in UP, it won’t affect Maharashtra.”
Talking about the Boycott Bollywood trend, Sonu said, “Mai tucche logo ko apni baate kyu batau. Why should I talk to those who won’t understand what I have to say. Everyone should just keep their heads down and move ahead – both artists and people on social media.” However, He refuses to comment on SRK’s Pathaan controversy.
Actor Suniel Shetty who also met CM Yogi and also requested him to discuss the matter of anti-Bollywood sentiments with PM Narendra Modi by assuring him that people of the industry don’t do drugs, or wrong work. “Yogi ji if you take the lead and talk to our beloved Prime Minister about it, it will make a huge difference,” he urged CM to stop the Boycott trend.

Talking about UP, he said, “Today, if I am Suniel Shetty, it is because of UP and the fans from there.”
