Director Priyadarshan has confirmed that he is not interested in returning to the series. In an exclusive interview with Times Now, the filmmaker revealed that he is currently busy with his upcoming horror thriller project with Akshay Kumar, and currently some script revisions are going on in the same.
Priyadarshan takes his horror thriller back to storyboard
Priyadarshan says his scriptwriters have taken the script back to the storyboard for some changes. “I wasn’t completely happy with the script. It is a brilliant idea, no doubt. I would describe it as a supernatural thriller where the audience won’t know till the end if there is a ghost in the plot or not. It is something I’ve never done before and neither has Akshay.”
Priyadarshan not keen on Hera Pheri space
The director, who has collaborated with Akshay Kumar in several successful comedies such as Bhool Bhulaiyaa, De Dana Dan, and Khatta Meetha, said that he is excited to work with the actor in a different genre. “I can’t be doing something I’ve already done. This is why when I was offered Hera Pheri 2, I turned it down. As far as I am concerned I am done with that space. Akshay and I have both done many comedies, together and individually. This time I want us to do something we’ve never attempted before. This is why the script is being modified.”
Priyadarshan, however, reiterates that the film to be produced by Ekta Kapoor will adhere to the original schedule and shooting will begin in September.
