Imtiaz Ali’s O Saathi Re Nears Completion: Final Shoot Kicks Off In Mussoorie With Aditi Rao Hydari & Avinash Tiwary

Imtiaz Ali’s Netflix series O Saathi Re, starring Aditi Rao Hydari and Avinash Tiwary, has completed 80% of its shoot and begins its final schedule in Mussoorie on May 6.

O Saathi Re Nears Wrap-Up!

Imtiaz Ali is back in his usual domain of love, longing, and landscapes. The filmmaker’s next big wager, O Saathi Re, is coming fast and furious toward the finish line and is in the midst of its last schedule in Mussoorie, which kicks off on May 6, 2025. The romantic Netflix series is produced and showrun by Ali and directed by his brother Arif Ali, and it features Aditi Rao Hydari and Avinash Tiwary in a soulful love story set to unfold from busy cities to the distant hills.

As per sources from the industry, 80% of the series has already been shot, with all of the Mumbai schedules wrapped up. The remaining schedule of 20% will be shot in the beautiful landscape of Mussoorie for some much-needed emotional backdrop leading to the climax and other important scenes of the drama.

“The crew is very excited about being in Mussoorie for the last schedule of shoot. About 60–70 % of the series was complete from the Mumbai schedules. Imtiaz and Arif planned this schedule diligently so that the climax and important scenes will resonate with the audience,” said a source.

O Saathi Re brings Aditi Rao Hydari and Imtiaz Ali back together after their last successful collaboration in Rockstar, and she is riding high on the current wave of accolades for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi. When asked about sharing screen space with Avinash Tiwary for the first time, the times are apparently electrifying performances that speak to the emotional heft of the series, providing the audience with a profound experience.

Following his recent performance in Sikandar Ka Muqaddar, Avinash unearths an unbridled factor to this character which aligns perfectly with Imtiaz’s conception of conflicted, soulful figures which exist at the core of his storytelling.

The series also features the seasoned gravitas of Arjun Rampal, who returns fresh off an all-too-brief stint in Rana Naidu Season 2, and one of the rising stars of the OTT space, Ahsaas Channa, who, through her art, always seems to add a contemporary lens to old-school romance.

Why O Saathi Re Is One of 2025’s Most Anticipated OTT Dramas

Imtiaz Ali does not just tell stories of love; he tells stories of eras of love on screen. Since Jab We Met and Tamasha, his specific cinematic language is a nostalgic one which fuses nostalgia, sound, and emotional chaos. His return to a lyrical style with O Saathi Re on Netflix—with the expanse of the long-form storytelling format—is all very exciting.

For the first time, Avinash Tiwary and Aditi Rao Hydari are sharing on-screen presence, and it’s reported that they have both given electric performances with the deeply emotional weight of the series.

The OTT audience today seeks depth with digestibility, and O Saathi Re seems to be perfectly timed. With OTT darling Netflix on board and a cast of Aditi Rao Hydari’s legacy and Avinash Tiwary’s newness, it seems to be another streaming release—but it also has its sights set on possibly being a genre-defining entry for Indian romantic dramas in 2025.

BoxOfficeWorldwide Verdict:

Imtiaz Ali’s O Saathi Re seems to be a slow-moving poetic adventure for Netflix India. With the shoot nearly 80% complete and about to start on their last schedule in Mussoorie, it is more than a love story; it is a promise of artistry. With Aditi Rao Hydari’s incredible charm, Avinash Tiwary’s restrained ardour, and Imtiaz Ali’s magical vision, the series is clearly one of the most anticipated OTT originals this year.

Keep your eyes on this space; O Saathi Re will likely elevate all other digital romance.
