Exclusive: Salman Khan’s Maatrubhumi Eyes November 20 Or December 4 Release After Clearance, Sets Up Clash With Eetha Or Suryaa

Salman Khan’s Maatrubhumi is back in the late-2026 release race after a long and complicated journey. Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that the film is eyeing either November 20 or December 4 for its theatrical release. If it arrives on November 20, it will clash with Sunny Deol’s Suryaa. If it goes with December 4, it will face Shraddha Kapoor’s Eetha.

The Clearance That Changed The Film’s Outlook

The latest movement comes after Maatrubhumi received a no-objection certificate from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, clearing the way for the film’s release process to move forward. That clearance became crucial because the film had been held up over its sensitive backdrop and the way its conflict material was being handled.

The Salman Khan starrer, based on the Galwan Valley conflict, had drawn scrutiny over its earlier treatment of the India-China military standoff. The revised version moved ahead only after changes were made to the film, following which the ministry clearance came through. The next formal step for the film remains the certification process.

Why The Film Was Delayed

The delays were not just about scheduling. Maatrubhumi was originally announced as Battle of Galwan, but the project later underwent a title change, script-level modifications, and reshoots as the makers reworked portions of the film. Those changes were central to why its earlier release plans did not materialise.

That uneven journey made the project one of Salman Khan’s most closely watched unreleased films this year. Now, with the ministry nod in place, the makers are weighing two commercially loaded dates for its theatrical arrival.

The Box Office Clash In Play

Both dates come with their own challenge. A November 20 release would position Maatrubhumi directly against Sunny Deol’s Suryaa, setting up a major mass-market clash. A December 4 release would place it opposite Shraddha Kapoor’s Eetha, which is already slated for that date.

Since Maatrubhumi’s own release date is still not officially out online, the decision now carries added intrigue for exhibitors and distributors watching the year-end corridor.

Cast And Film Details

Maatrubhumi is a war drama headlined by Salman Khan, with Chitrangda Singh in the cast. The film has been positioned as a more serious military narrative than the star’s usual action-commercial outings, which is one reason it has remained a talking point despite repeated postponements.

With the title change, reshoots, ministry clearance and a fresh release push now behind it, Maatrubhumi is finally moving toward the finish line. The only question left is whether Salman Khan takes on Suryaa in November or Eetha in December.
