Dussehra gave Ramayana: Rise of a Legend a dramatic new push on Tuesday, October 20, as the makers opened advance bookings across India and unveiled a Ravana-led musical unit fronted by Yash. Timed to the festival that marks Lord Rama’s triumph over Ravana, the campaign flips the spotlight onto Lanka’s ruler, with Yash appearing in a fierce Taandav-themed sequence that sharpens the film’s most anticipated face-off.
Today music label T series and makers launched larger than life song from the film on Dussera.
Yash Takes Center Stage In The Latest Reveal
Titled Rise of Asura in Hindi, the newly unveiled unit positions Ravana as a force of devotion, menace and grandeur. The visual emphasis is firmly on Yash’s transformation, from the imposing styling to the intensity of his expressions, giving the character a larger-than-life aura that fits the scale promised by the film’s marketing so far.
The multilingual rollout also underlines how heavily the makers are leaning into Ravana’s presence ahead of release. The unit is titled Ravana Taandav in Kannada, and Ravana Taandavam in Tamil and Telugu. The Hindi version features vocals by Vishal Dadlani, lyrics by Dr Kumar Vishwas, and music supervision by A.R. Ameen and Hiral Viradia. The Tamil version features vocals by Anirudh Ravichander and G. V. Prakash Kumar.
More importantly, the reveal strengthens the film’s current promotional pivot, shifting from broad curiosity around the epic to character-driven spectacle. By choosing Dussehra for this drop, the team has framed Ravana not simply as the antagonist, but as one of the film’s biggest event attractions.

Advance Bookings Open Ahead Of November Release
The booking launch on October 20 now sets up a clear run toward the film’s worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Rise of a Legend is backed by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.
Ranbir Kapoor leads the cast as Lord Rama, with Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. The film has been mounted as the first chapter of a two-part epic, with Part 2 already dated for Diwali 2027. The title will also release in IMAX, with Sony Pictures handling international distribution outside India and Dharma Productions releasing it in the Hindi-speaking market.
Ramayana Cast And Story Details
What stands out now is the sheer star weight behind the adaptation. With Ranbir Kapoor and Yash positioned on opposite ends of the central conflict, and Sunny Deol stepping in as Hanuman, the film is clearly being sold as a large-format theatrical event rather than a conventional mythological retelling. That strategy also extends to its multilingual release across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, giving the project a pan-Indian footprint from the outset.
Yash’s Recent And Upcoming Work
That is precisely why this Ravana reveal matters at this moment in Yash’s career. After K.G.F: Chapter 2 turned him into one of Indian cinema’s biggest mass stars in 2022, Ramayana: Rise of a Legend marks his move into a mythological role with major national crossover pull. He was also seen in Toxic, which released on August 26, 2026, making Ramayana his next theatrical outing within the same year. Looking ahead, Yash will continue this arc with Ramayana Part 2, scheduled for Diwali 2027.
