The rollout for Ramayana is getting even bigger. After the film locked a high-profile Los Angeles premiere on October 27, Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that the makers are planning multiple grand premieres in Mumbai at NMACC just two days later, turning the launch of the mythological spectacle into a multi-city event with a distinctly global scale.
The Los Angeles screening has already set the tone for the campaign around Ramayana. The film is scheduled to hold its world premiere at the David Geffen Theatre inside the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on October 27, 2026, underlining the scale at which the team is positioning the project. That international bow is now expected to be followed by a major India showcase at Mumbai’s Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, or NMACC, on October 29.
Mumbai Premieres Set To Follow Los Angeles Debut
Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that the Mumbai leg is being designed as multiple grand premieres rather than a single screening. That decision reflects the enormous curiosity around the film and the scale of its ensemble, while also giving the makers room to host a broader guest list from the film, business, and cultural worlds.
NMACC has emerged as one of Mumbai’s most prestigious event venues in recent years, housed within Jio World Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex. Its association with large-format cultural showcases and high-profile launches makes it a fitting stage for a film that is being mounted as one of Indian cinema’s biggest mythological productions.
Ramayana’s Scale And Positioning
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, and Sunny Deol, with producer Namit Malhotra backing the ambitious big-screen retelling. The project has attracted sustained attention for the sheer size of its canvas, from its mythological scope to the visual demands of translating one of India’s most enduring epics into a contemporary theatrical event.
The decision to open with a Los Angeles premiere before staging multiple Mumbai showcases points to a launch strategy built around both prestige and spectacle. It suggests the makers are not treating Ramayana as a routine star-led release, but as a film meant to travel across markets and command attention as a major cinematic property with international appeal.
Premiere Strategy And Release Momentum
A multi-city premiere plan of this kind is unusual even for top-tier Hindi releases, especially when it begins overseas and then expands into multiple red-carpet events in India within the same week. That structure allows the film to build separate moments of visibility, first with a global industry-facing showcase and then with a larger home-ground celebration tailored to Mumbai’s entertainment ecosystem.
For a film carrying this level of anticipation, that approach signals unusual confidence. Rather than relying on a single splashy unveiling, the team appears to be building a staggered launch that keeps Ramayana in the spotlight and reinforces its positioning as an event film designed to dominate conversation well before audiences walk into theatres.
Film will be releasing on 7th November 2026 worldwide with paid previews will be there couple of days in advance.
